"We have the ability to regulate our own physiology, including some of the so-called involuntary functions of the body and brain, trough such basic activities as breathing, moving, and touching."
- Bessel van der Kolk MD
Psychophysical Practitioner
My name is Doortje Koster
For over ten years, I’ve worked with people dealing with stress, tension, and overload — in contexts ranging from mental health care to social work and public policy.
What has always fascinated me is how stress affects the body and mind — and how people can regain control when given the right tools.
With a background in social work, I gradually shifted my focus to the physical side of recovery. This practice is the result: a place where body, breath and awareness come together — accessible, supportive, and tailored to the individual.
My style is grounded and inquisitive. I help you recognize patterns, regulate tension, and apply practical techniques that fit your situation. I work best with people who are ready to take charge again, but don’t quite know where to start.
I continue to train actively in stress regulation, body-oriented methods and biopsychosocial approaches.
My work is not therapy or medical treatment, but a professional form of guidance for those seeking insight, calm, and recovery.
